"I can get a Sony Playstation 3 in Latin and used in South Africa?
A friend of mine is willing to bring me a Sony Playstation 3 80GB to South Africa when he comes to visit America. Can I use this in South Africa, plus South Africa and sets these countries are "incompatible"? It only costs $ 500 there with a free game and R6 200 in South Africa for what it is all a big savings. Thank you very much for any person who answers. Patricia
Not There is an absolute rule in this regard. Some games are region code, others are not. Some Blu-ray movies are, and others do not. I have a PS3 in North America in Saudi Arabia, and works well with the media in the U.S.. It will not play anything that is not the region 1 and A compatible. [Edit] Strictly speaking, the specification U.S. PS3 marked 120V/60Hz ... There has been speculation that it is a universal power supply. Many people on the Internet claim to have successfully 220V/50Hz connected without problems - I have not read anything that says the PS3 has been fried. That said, you can get a transformer down for a few Rand, and you still PS3 is getting a huge discount. What movies and games are available in stores where you are in? If the selection is poor and the costs are high, I do not hesitate to get the U.S. version, but I will make sure that my friend bring a lot of movies and games with the unit.
