With the Nintendo, you're looking at a "Party Game" system. Graphics are goofier, and the game play tends to be more for multiple people in the room. Unless your buying the "Hands on fun movement" of Wii, otherwise it's not a better buy.
Coming down to Xbox vs PS3, XBox definitely had more "Out the door" titles, but PS3 has the better performance overall. More recently, the PS3 collection has really expanded to include some interesting titles overall, and expect to see more down the road.
Personal taste - PS3 is the better system overall, and the games are finally coming out to make it the better purchase.
